Extra Credit Projects

Be sure to speak with me for approval of your plans before beginning your project.  The percentage indicated will be added to your quarter grade at the end of the quarter. (Max 5% extra credit per semester.)

Physical Science

• Construct a Theramin  & describe - 10% extra credit
• Build a working marble machine - 10% extra credit
• Construct a rubber band heat engine - 5% extra credit
• Construct a coke can stirling engine - 10% extra credit
• Collect and identify all 7 types of recyclable plastic - 3%
• Make a pair of 3D glasses and describe how they work - 2%
• Construct a diddley bow guitar and describe how it works- 5%
• Complete the "Origins of the Metric System" assignment - 2% (see file below)
• Complete a concept map that summarizes the electrical generation classroom poster - 2%
  
• Build a trash can Vortex Cannon and describe - 5%
• Summarize an approved article using on of the graphic organizers found in the "strategies" page. - 2%

• Use timetoast to create a timeline, complete with images, showing the development of atomic theory. -3%
  
• Work with me to develop a one class period lesson on a topic of interest. - 5%
• Build a homemade speaker - 3%
• Create a cupcake periodic table - 5%
• Build a Ping-Pong ball launcher and calculate distance - 5%
